Teachers’ Retirement Planning Seminar a Success
The Richland County Retired Teachers Association sponsored a Teachers’ Retirement Planning Seminar for local educators on September 17 at St.Paul Lutheran Church in Ontario. The 44 attendees from nine school districts were treated to a light supper served by members the organization. Other members served at the registration table, as greeters, and helped to set up or clean up. Gift bags for the attendees were provided by Spencer Moody of Edward Jones Investments.
President Kathy Russell greeted the participants and gave information about RCRTA and ORTA before introducing the speaker for the evening, Hope Short, from STRS Ohio. Ms. Short explained eligibility for benefits, payout plans, naming beneficiaries, health care plans and much more, providing each participant with a packet of retirement materials and a workbook. She also answered many questions from the audience.
The Richland County Retired Teachers Association will sponsor this event again in the fall of 2021
The Richland Count Retired Teachers Association (RCRTA) is offering grants to teachers in the public and parochial schools
in Richland County. Awards of up to $200 will be given as needed throughout the school year, as long as funds are available. The grant program is open to any academic discipline, grade level, or building activity that meets the needs of the students. Interested teachers should complete the application.

Greetings RCRTA Members and Friends,
Dear RCRTA Members and Friends,
I want to congratulate and welcome all the new Richland County retirees and encourage you to join both the Richland County Retired Teachers Association (RCRTA), as well as the Ohio Retired Teachers Association (ORTA). RCRTA meets four times a year for a luncheon and an informative and entertaining program. We are also involved in many community service projects both as a group and as individuals. We have attendees from all the county school districts and our luncheons are a great opportunity to reconnect and socialize with old friends. Mark your calendars now so you don’t miss a single event!
